support - all star united

Having arrived at the hall where the concert was taking place about a quarter hour after I was told the show would start, fortunately it turned out my information was wrong. Fifteen minutes after we arrived, at 8pm, All Star United burst onto the stage. Having never heard any of their songs before, I didn't know what to expect really, but I certainly wasn't disappointed. They played a good half a dozen songs which got everyone properly in the mood ready for the main event.

Come 9 o'clock everyone was ready and waiting for the d:boys to come out. When they did, they put on a spectacular performance. Having been the first d:concert I've ever been to, I can't compare it with others to say whether it was better or not, all I can say is that I intend to go to every concert I possibly can from now on! Superb visuals behind the boys really worked well with the songs, and to hear a room full of mostly teenagers all singing "Glory, glory, glory in the highest" was a wonderful experience.

The full set list (in no paricular order, since I can't remember) was:

Fire
Deeper
Promise
Alien
Rollercoaster
History Maker
Obsession
My Glorious
Waiting for the Summer
King of Fools
Jesus' Blood
Everything
Take Me Away
Show Me Heaven
Touch

Encore:

Mezzanine Floor
Bliss
Investigate

Despite Martin clearly still suffering from a cold he came down with a couple of days before, he gave it all he had and gave us all a night to remember, as did the others, particularly Stu G with his superb guitar solos and a solo singing rendition of King of Fools. I just can't wait until the next concert...
